Michael Belanger SHCPS Impact of Technology in Education 2008 Math Magician 3-5 Overview: This project was created to integrate Math and Technology Standards in compliance with the MA DOE. Grade 3-5 Standards Covered: 1.1 1.2 1.14 1.16 1.17 2.1 2.2 2.13 4.N.10 4.N.11 4.N.12 6.N.9 Student Learning Outcomes: Demonstrate basic steps in using available hardware and applications (e.g., log into a computer, connect/disconnect peripherals, upload files from peripherals). Select a printer, use print preview, and print a document with the appropriate page setup and orientation. Explain and use age-appropriate online tools and resources (e.g., tutorial, assessment, Web browser) Explain terms related to the use of networks (e.g., username, password, network, file server) Identify and use terms related to the Internet (e.g., Web browser, URL, keyword, World Wide Web, search engine, links). Explain and demonstrate compliance with school rules (Acceptable Use Policy) regarding responsible use of computers and networks. Explain responsible uses of technology and digital information; describe possible consequences of inappropriate use. Recognize and demonstrate ergonomically sound and safe use of equipment. Select and use appropriate operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) to solve problems, including those involving money Know multiplication facts through 12 ´ 12 and related division facts Add and subtract (up to five-digit numbers) and multiply (up to three digits by two digits) accurately and efficiently Select and use appropriate operations to solve problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and positive integer exponents with whole numbers, and with positive fractions, mixed numbers, decimals, and percents. Length: This project will take approximately 2 classes to finish.
