The following list should help you succeed in The Seven Hills Charter Public School Instrument Program. Please refer to this list whenever you have a question regarding course expectations or bandroom etiquette. General Tip: Practice at least fifteen minutes a day. Be prepared, do your best, and you will do fine!!! For every class, you must have: instrument, music folder (W/Music), a pencil, at least one extra reed or valve oil if they apply to your instrument. Students will be graded on effort, preparedness of materials (music, instrument, pencil, etc.), and practicing of music. Never play or touch any instrument except your own. This includes the percussion equipment. Everyone should be ready to go at the designated time given by Mr. McGann. We have 30 minutes to learn as much material as we can so please be prompt. Trips to the bathroom should be reserved for emergencies. We only meet for 30 minutes so it is important to be in class for the allotted time. Instrument care is crucial!! Do not let the condition deteriorate until there is a major problem. Regular cleaning and maintenance is your responsibility. Common sense, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work for musical excellence are the traits which will ensure that we will maintain the SHCPS tradition of excellence. Please consider these three ingredients at all times. Take care of your music! Only write in pencil. If it is lost or destroyed, you will pay to replace it. Instrument cases should be placed under your chairs. This includes any of the larger sized instruments (saxophone, trumpet, and trombone). Last, but not least, remember to have fun.
Thank you. |
