Extra Credit
My Philosophy on Extra Credit:
Extra credit, by definition, implies that you are doing just a bit more to boost your scores and knowledge of the standards. In other words, completing extra credit means that you have completed all the assignments and coursework that have been created for you, but still find that your numbers aren't quite what you want them to be. Extra credit is going the extra mile!
Eligibility Requirements:
To receive extra credit in ELA class, you must tackle the following in sequential order:
- complete and submit all coursework (with minor exceptions) before making your request
- schedule a one-on-one with Mr. Hoskins to review areas of weakness (based on your thoughts and our collected data)
- select a learning opportunity that suits both your needs as well as the needs of the standards (this might be a school or community-based project, entry into a writing competition, or any other reading and writing concentrated experience)
- successfuly demonstrate growth in the targeted standard(s) through your engagement in the selected experience
**Extra credit can be a fun and fulfilling learning experience!**
